"Mr. Brightside" by The Killers (lyrics) connects in several ways to the theme in Othello. The main theme I would like to focus on is jealousy has horrible consequences when a person allows it to take control of their decision making. The song says "jealousy turning saints into the sea" which describes the way jealousy turns Othello from a calm, generally good guy into a killer (no pun intended). The jealousy corrupts him: "of one not easily jealous, but, being wrought . . . threw a pearl away" (V.ii.344-346). Additionally, the song says "and it's all in my head" which is true of Othello's situation. Desdemona is not really having an affair; Othello's imagination is just overstimulated by Iago's lies. The song also mentions "it started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this". The rumor of the affair really begins with Cassio kissing Desdemona's hand/cheek (not sure which) as a sign of respect and courtesy: "'Tis my breeding that gives me this bold show of courtesy (kissing her)" (II.i.98-99). The song also says "I just can't look, it's killing me", and in the play, the jealousy eats up Othello's mental capacities to the point that he can't think about anything else. And though the killing in this case is figurative, the jealousy ends up making Othello commit suicide.
Also, the band members tend to rock some facial hair, as do the majority of the actors in the movie.
I wanted to put the music video for the song but it's not exactly Catholic school appropriate (but it's really cool, so I suggest watching it). So instead here's Othello's final speech.
