She might become ten thousand times more malignant than her mate.Seriously, I think Victor should have created the female. For one thing, if he had any sense, he would have seen from the creature's story that he was inherently good, so that female would be as well. Also, if he feared her evilness, he could have just trained her to be good instead of running away like he did with the creature. Additionally, his argument that they might have children and breed a "race of devils" is simply proposterous. I know, I know, this book is about a super creature formed out of inanimate parts. Yes, I know that sometimes the physical limitations of the natural world need to sometimes be forgotten in order to fully enjoy a novel. But fiction can only go so far before I can no longer suspend reality. There are so many things wrong with his fear of their reproducing, but I'll just say one: unless Felix read the Kama Sutra aloud, I doubt the creature knows what sex is.
Oh! another suspension of reality that I could barely continue- Why the heck would Walton write all this down? I mean, wouldn't he have shortened it up a little bit?
Until Next Time,
Alysse
